New 2D Sonic Coming in 2010
Sega has discovered a new 2D Sonic game with HD graphics codenamed Project Needlemouse that's meant to be the first step in bringing Sonic "back to his 2D roots."
Information technology might not be the Dreamcast 2 news we were all hoping for, but Sega's announcement today of Project Needlemouse, a new Sonic lame, is non altogether insignificant. Due in 2010, Project Needlemouse is a spic-and-span 2D Audible game with HD nontextual matter that sounds at least same Sega is finally giving entirely the Sonic fans what they want and making an old-school-glorious Sonic game.
"Old-school Hearable fans have long asked to pick up Sonic takings to a more 2D style of gameplay," Sega's Kevin Ballough told GameSpot. "Many liked the daytime stages in Unleashed but wanted to see a game that plays strictly similar to the early games of the Genesis. Project Needlemouse is that grievous first step that brings Sonic back to his 2D roots."
Old-shoal is decidedly the vibe the Project Needlemouse teaser house trailer is loss for. It opens with the standard "Southeastward-GA" depart-up jingle and so a blue blur speeding crosswise the screen from left to right, collecting rings. "Speed returns in an all-new 2D adventure well-stacked from the ground up," the house trailer declares. Next there's a glimpse of a silhouette of a logo that looks like the old Sonic emblem.
I have to inquire, though, that doesn't look exactly like the determine of Sonic's head in the logo. Mayhap it's impartial me being deuteranopic, or maybe Project Needlemouse has a hot case? One that no old-school Hearable fans will flat come more or less liking? Wouldn't Be the low time it happens.
